Chinese envoy criticizes Western states propaganda against Iran

Chinese Ambassador to Tehran, Pang Sen made the remarks in a cultural ceremony held at the Niavaran Cultural Complex in northern Tehran to introduce cultural aspects of Chinese western province of Xinjiang, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Xinjiang or officially Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, is an autonomous region of China in the northwest of the country and the largest Chinese administrative division.

The ambassador said that the seven-day cultural event aimed at making Chinese and Iranian nations more familiar with each other and help introduce realities of the two countries.

Pang added that joint cultural events would help provide true image of Iran for outside world and make the negative propaganda of the Western states against the country ineffective.

Recalling a number of agreements signed for Tehran-Beijing cooperation during the visit to Iran by Chinese President Xi jinping in January, Pang referred to President Xi’s initiative for revival of the ancient Silk Road called the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.

He said that the Silk Road is not only a road for trade but a road for promoting culture and civilization.

He described the Silk Road to the “road of peace, progress and prosperity.”

Terming Iran as a major crossroad along the Silk Road, Pang said that Xinjiang is also a pearl in the Chinese culture.
