 Iranians, quite respectful community in Germany: Former envoy

Former German Ambassador to Tehran Bernd Erbel says Iranians are a quite respectful community in Germany, AVA Diplomatic reports.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony to celebrate birth anniversary of the eighth Shiite Imam Reza which was held at the site of Berlin Ethnology Museum.

He said Iran and Germany have enjoyed friendly relations as a long-standing tradition.

He pointed to the good number of Iranian students who have studied in Germany so far and said the Iranians who chose to stay in Germany formed a quite formidable community in the country.

He further noted that over 700 Iranian physicians are currently living in Germany many of whom are among the most distinguished ones in their fields.

He said both Iran and Germany looked at the history of their friendly and fruitful relationship in cultural areas.

The former ambassador also said everyone should try to safeguard this wealth and try to hand it down to the next generations.
