Iran, Romania stress promotion of ties

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the outgoing Romanian Ambassador to Tehran Christian Teodorescu in a meeting on Sunday called for promotion of mutual ties between the two nations, AVA Diplomatic reports.

During the meeting between Teodorescu and Zarif, Iranian foreign minister said that the two countries enjoy good potential for furthering cooperation particularly in the field of economy. Iran is ready for development of mutual ties with Romania, he said.

Zarif referred to the Romanian envoy’s honorary membership of Iran’s Academy of Persian Language and Literature and hailed his role in deepening Iran-Romania ties.

Teodorescu for his part voiced hope for promotion of relations between Iran and Romani in all spheres especially the economy and trade.

He underlined the importance of boosting cultural ties as well as cooperation between Iran and Romania universities.
