Enhanced relations with European states is on agenda of Iran’s foreign policy, Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said on Monday, AVA Diplomatic reports.
He made the remarks in a meeting with non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania Andrius Bruzga.
Sarmadi said that there are good grounds for cooperation between Iran and Lithuania in fields of energy, tourism, agriculture and investment.
Bruzga for his part referred to the opportunities created for Tehran-Vilnius closer ties in the post-sanctions era and urged Iranian governmental and private sectors to go ahead with joint venture investment in Lithuania.
He said Lithuania foreign minister will pay a visit to Iran in the near future and hoped for finalization of agreements for Tehran-Vilnius economic cooperation soon.
During the meeting, the ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania submitted a copy of his credentials to the deputy foreign minister.
