Belarus to improve Tabriz public transportation

Mayor of Tabriz Sadeq Najafi expressed interest in using capacities of Belarus for the improving public transportation system in this metropolitan city, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Underlining the importance of development of economic relations between Tabriz and Mogilev, Najafi announced readiness of Tabriz Municipality to purchase some of the requirements of the public transportation Belarus creates a factory for assembly of public transportation vehicles in this city of Iran.

Pointing to the sisterhood of Tabriz and Mogilev, he said advantage should be taken of this cultural capacity for the improvement of bilateral relations, adding that holding cultural weeks can help realize expansion of ties.

Meanwhile, Belarus Ambassador to Tehran Victor Ribak said expansion of economic cooperation with Tabriz can strengthen relations between Iran and Belarus and expressed hope that beginning of economic cooperation will be a turning point in the expansion of relations in other areas.

To follow up the issues discussed last year, Ribak met and conferred with the mayor of Tabriz for the second time this year.

In last year’s visit of an economic delegation from East Azarbaijan to Belarus, a memorandum of understanding was signed announcing the two cities of Tabriz and Mogilev sisters.

Belarus, with its capital city Minsk, is located in East Europe and has joint borders with Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.
