Students from Meimeh Azad University visited UNIC

A group of some 55 law students from Meimeh Branch of the Islamic Azad University in Meimeh in the Isfahan Province, visited UNIC Tehran and participated in a UN4U session at UNIC Library on 28 May 2015, AVA Diplomatic reports.
UNIC National Information Officer Mr. Mohammad Moghadam briefed the students and their professor Dr. Baqeri on UN’s history and major organs as well as the Millenium Development Goals (MDG).
He also talked about work of UN agencies stationed in Tehran and UNIC Tehran’s activities and services which were followed by a question and answer session.
The students expressed their satisfaction for the lecture. “I am very happy that I came for this briefing, because I am now familiar with major UN Organs such General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council etc and know how they operate,” said one of the students.
She added: “It was interesting to learn that this year is historic and a special one: the world marks the 70th anniversary of the United Nations and Iran, our country is one of 51 founding Member States.”
The visit ended by a question and answer session. Copies of the Persian versions MDGs flyer were given to them.
