Greece FM will deliver speech in Tehran University

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias is to deliver speech in Tehran University on November 29 about the Greek role in the Middle East and Europe, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Greek Ambassador to Tehran Georgios Ayfantis met with Vice-Chancellor of Tehran University for International Affairs Mohammad Baqer Qahramani to coordinate the program.
Referring to Iran’s rich culture and history and friendly ties between Iran and Greece, the ambassador said that visit of foreign minister would have significant impacts on bilateral ties.
Ayfantis said that Iran has always played an important role to restore stability in the region and at a time when Daesh is a factor of insecurity and terror in the Middle East and Europe, the international community commends Iran’s role to reinforce security.
He said that Greece has good cooperation in all fields with Iran, and that the Greek government aims to strengthen academic relations as a turning point in bilateral ties.
Ayfantis called for academic exchanges and cooperation in tourism.
Qahramani said that historical and friendly ties between Iran and Greece are strong.
Tehran University has a record of hosting dignitaries and major characters from different countries and is a venue for delivery of speech.
Greek FM, who is an academic, would be effective to develop academic relations between Iran and Greece.
