IKCO to export 500 vehicles to Tajikistan

Iran Khodro Industrial Group signed a memorandum of understanding with Tajikistan’s Investment and Economic Development Group to export IKCO’s vehicles to central Asian country, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Iran Khodro’s Deputy CEO for Export and International Affairs, Saeed Tafazzoli said, “As part of efforts to expand its export market in Tajikistan, IKCO is set to export 500 vehicles to the country.”
“If the project is carried out successfully, the two sides would establish a joint site in Tajikistan to assemble Iran Khodro’s products there. To this end, a Tajik company would invest in the establishment of a production line. For its part, Iran Khodro would offer its technical knowhow and engineering services and provide them with CKD parts,” Tafazzoli said.
He also noted that the joint establishment would be Tajikistan’s first vehicle manufacturing site, adding, “Iran Khodro can use it as an outlet to export its products to other regional countries.”
Tajikistan’s ambassador to Iran, Ne’matollah Emamzade expressed his country’s interest in importing IKCO’s products, saying, “Iran Khodro is a leading company with an unprecedented production capacity.”
He praised Iran Khodro’s advanced production technology and rich human resources adding the mentioned features have contributed to the global competitive advantage of IKCO.
Emamzade referred to the cultural and language commonalities between the two countries saying, “The commonalities would provide IKCO with good opportunities to accomplish its industrial projects in Tajikistan.”
