MP says Iran-Russia ties will promote regional peace, stability

Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Ala’eddin Boroujerdi, said on Sunday that expansion of relations between Iran and Russia will help strengthen peace and stability in the region, AVA Diplomatic reports.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagarian Boroujerdi said that expansion of relations is the strategic policy of Iran and Russia.
He said that Iran and Russia have common stance about many regional and international issues providing abundant opportunities for expansion of cooperation in line with mutual interests of Iranian and Russian nations.
Meanwhile, he blamed the US regional policy for encouraging terrorism in the region.
‘The anti-Daesh Coalition, led by the US and its regional allies, are a political show. The current measures taken by the United States are not practically able to stop growth of the terrorist and Takfiri groups,’ he said.
Boroujerdi noted that enhanced Iran-Russia cooperation in various issues will consolidate peace and tranquility in the region.
Jagarian for his part underlined expansion of mutual ties and said that enhanced political and economic relations between Iran and Russia will help guarantee peace and stability in the region.
He said exchange of diplomatic and parliamentary delegations by Iranian and Russian governments and parliaments indicate resolve of the two governments to upgrade ties in various fields.
