Turkish Ambassador to Tehran said on Thursday that Turkish businessmen do not hesitate to compete with European companies and that Turkey is ready to increase trade ties with Iran after termination of sanctions, AVA Diplomatic reports.
He said that currently Turkey is competing with big European companies in the domains of economy and industry and that re-entry of the European firms to Iran would not have any negative impacts on Turkey trade ties with Iran.
He added that businessmen of the two countries have important role in expansion of bilateral cooperation, and the governments are expected to prepare the ground for more activities of the private sectors from both sides.
He said that Turkey has developed tourism which has been very useful for the economy.
Tekin said that Turkey by creating appropriate infrastructures intend to increase its share from global tourism. Referring to visit of 40 million tourists to Turkey in year 2014, Tekin said Iranian tourists visiting Turkey have increased by 30 percent.
The ambassador called for increases in number of flights between Iran and Turkey in order to increase cultural and economic ties.
Head of Tabriz Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture Samad Hassanzadeh said that the two countries have longstanding economic and cultural ties and despite the sanctions imposed on Iran, Turkey continued its cooperation with Iran.
He said that economic capacity of East Azarbaijan province is extensive and facilities for foreign investors activities are well-prepared. He said that East Azarbaijan province has set up Aras special economic Free Zone.
Hassanzadeh said that transit of goods and raw materials has an important role in keeping active the manufacturing units of the province. He underlined necessity of removing the difficulties in transport and transit of goods between Iran and Turkey.
