Tehran, Bangkok review expansion of trade relations
Head of the Trade Development Organization of Iran Valiollah Afkhami Rad has proposed establishment of banking brokerage links between Iran and Thailand, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Referring to the $400 million volume of trade between Iran and Thailand he said over $170 million belongs to Iran’s exports and the remaining to its imports.
Speaking in a meeting with the Thai ambassador in Iran, Afkhami Rad said volume of trade between the two countries should further grow, adding that to this end, common methods for trade development, including dispatch of trade delegations, holding exhibitions and signing of preferential agreements can be used.
Pointing to the dispatch of Mohammad Ali Pakseresht as Iran’s honorary advisor in Thailand he noted that the new advisor who is supported by the Foreign Ministry and Trade Development Organization of Iran will prepare the ground for further development of bilateral cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Thai Ambassador to Tehran Rasmee Chittham pointing to the political conditions governing over his country said although the civil war in his country has come to an end still the world has a negative outlook towards Thailand which is not true.
He invited Afkhami Rad to participate in the ceremonies to mark 60th anniversary of Iran- Thailand relations which will take place at the end of the current month.
