The visit of H.E. Javanshir Akhundov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Isfahan

H.E. Javanshir Akhundov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran paid a visit to Isfahan, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Ambassador Akhundov met with Mr. Rasul Zargarpour, the governor of Isfahan. During the meeting the governor referred to the joint cultural, historical, political, geographical and religious roots between the two countries and underlined dynamic development of relations.

Ambassador Javanshir Akhundov briefed on the intensity of the bilateral high-level visits, he pointed to the fact that during 2014 the Presidents of two countries had met 4 times, as well as informed on the positive outcomes of the visit of H.E. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the visit of H.E. Hassan Rouhani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani Ambassador informed about the recent economic-social developments and reforms in the country and noted that in June 2015 Azerbaijan will host the First European Olympic Games.  Furthermore, J.Akhundov mentioned that in 2017 Azerbaijan will be a host to the Islamic Games of Solidarity (Islamiada).

While informing about the plans to hold Azerbaijan Culture Days in Iran in 2015, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed interest in organizing cultural programs also in Isfahan.

Within the framework of the visit Ambassador Akhundov visited Najafabad industrial town near Isfahan and was introduced to the work of “Gazsuzan”, “Pishrou Asia Disel”, “Kashiye Asia” and “Sepahan” factories and plants.
