 Official urges expansion of ties between Khorasan Razavi Province and Turkmenistan

Governor General of Khorasan Razavi province Mohammad Hossein Forouzanmehr on Sunday underlined the need for expansion of ties between the province and Turkmenistan, AVA Diplomatic reports.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Turkmen consul in Mashhad Sardar Mohammad Galajayev.

Forouzanmehr described the level of Iran-Turkmenistan ties as positive and called for further promotion of ties and cooperation between the two countriesˈ neighboring provinces within the frameworks of regional cooperation.

Underlining the two countriesˈ religious, cultural and historical commonalties as a base for strengthening of mutual interactions, he called for development of Bajgiran border market in a bid to boost transit of goods to Central Asia.

Galajayev, referring to growing ties and cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan, said the two sides have done their best to develop their mutual ties especially after construction of Friendship damˈ, ˈtransit railroadˈ and ˈborder marketsˈ.
