President Hassan Rouhani in a meeting with new ambassador of Myanmar in Tehran has expressed interest in establishing stability, security and social cohesion in Myanmar, AVA Diplomatic reports.
President made the remarks in a meeting with new Myanmar ambassador to Tehran during which he received his credentials.
He also expressed hope that ethnic and religious minorities, Muslims in particular, could live freely in Myanmar.
President Rouhani said Iran is concerned about the conditions of Muslims in Myanmar and is prepared to solve their problems in cooperation with the Myanmar’s government.
He stressed the importance of improving bilateral relations in economic, cultural and social fields and strengthening regional cooperation.
He also added Iran is ready to cooperate with Myanmar in technical and vocational arenas.
Myanmar’s new Ambassador,U Aung Khin Soe, for his part said the two countries have always enjoyed amicable relations.
