 Minority rights guaranteed in Iran: Presidential advisor

Minorities’ rights have been guaranteed in Iran, president’s Special Adviser for Ethnic Minorities Affairs Ali Younesi said on Monday , AVA Diplomatic reports.He made the remarks in a meeting with Ambassador of the Netherlands Johannes Douma. Younesi underlined that religious minorities in Iran are conducting a peaceful life along with the Shiite Muslims in the country.It is among the basic policies of the Iranian government to respect the rights of ethnic and religious minorities, he added.

The former intelligence minister also said that religious minorities in Iran can freely perform their religious rituals.Elsewhere in his remarks, Younesi called for enhanced bilateral ties between Tehran and Amsterdam.The Dutch envoy for his part welcomed expansion of tie between the two countries in all fields.

Iran’s Constitution has officially recognized Christianity, Judaism and Zoroastrianism as divine religions alongside Islam and their followers are having a peaceful life and friendly relationship with each other.
