Dutch Ambassador: Religious minorities in Iran enjoy more freedom than elsewhere
Dutch Ambassador to Tehran Johannes Doma said on Tuesday that religious minorities in Iran enjoy more freedom than those living in neighboring countries, AVA Diplomatic reports.Doma made the remarks in a meeting with Yonatan Bet-Kolia, the Assyrian representative to the Majlis, in Tehran on Tuesday.Bet-Kolia told Doma that different ethnic and religious groups lead peaceful life in Iran.
He said the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Constitution officially recognizes divine religions, including Christianity, Judaism and Zoroastrianism, and their followers lead peaceful life.
The Assyrian Majlis deputy said the Netherlands should take steps towards strengthening security, peace and tranquility worldwide and people in many countries should be able to lead peaceful life.
