 Croatia calls for enhancement of trade ties with Iran

Croatiaˈs Ambassador to Tehran Striebor Keric here on Thursday called on both countries to do their best to enhance ties in various fields, especially in economic and trade arenas, AVA Diplomatic reports.The Croatian envoy made the remarks in a meeting with Head of Alborz Chamber of Commerce Hossein Toussi.

Keric called for preparation of suitable grounds for further cooperation between Iranian and Croat industrialists.

He pointed to successful activities of Croatian companies in Iran, and said, ˈCroatia is willing to expand trade ties with Alborz province.ˈ

Toussi, for his part, said since the province has many industrial and trade potentials, Croatia can become an entry gate for Iranian products to the European Union.

Iran and Croatia established diplomatic relations on April 18, 1992 when Iran became the 7th country to recognize the newly-independent country. Croatia has an embassy in Tehran and Iran maintains an embassy and a cultural center in Zagreb.
