 Italy’s new ambassador to Iran introduced

The Italian Foreign Ministry issued a communiqué here Monday introducing Mauro Konchater as its new ambassador to Tehran, AVA Diplomatic reports.The new Italian envoy was born in 1958 and entered the political scene after gaining his political science BA in 1988 from the University of Florence.

He then served as the Charge de-Affaires of the Italian Embassy in Belgrade from 1991 to 1994 and the as the Italian Consul to Paris from 1994 to 1999.

He is the successor of Ambassador Luca Giansanti.
