Independent nations should work toward just world order: Ahmadinejad
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says independent governments and nations are tasked with establishing a just world order to help eliminate discrimination, insecurity and division, AVA Diplomatic reports.President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a Saturday meeting with new Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran Santiago Irazabal Mourao.
He said the Islamic Republic of Iran and Brazil are two friendly countries, adding, “Tehran-Brasilia relations are deeply rooted and extensive and there is no negative point in the relations of the two countries.”
“We have joint viewpoints, interests and enemies and there are those who do not want countries like Iran and Brazil to make progress and be powerful; therefore we need to expand our ties to the highest possible level,” President Ahmadinejad said.
He added that there is no obstacle to the expansion of bilateral ties and welcomed the development of all-out relations with Latin American country.
He said the global hegemony seeks to devise a new plot against Latin America and to transfer its economic woes to other parts of the world. He added, however, that South American leaders will thwart such plots through vigilance.
In the meeting, the new Brazilian ambassador submitted his credentials to President Ahmadinejad and stressed the need for the further enhancement of relations in different sectors, including political, trade, scientific and technological cooperation.
Iran and Brazil have a wide range of common international and political viewpoints, which can help to improve ties.
