International Youth Day 2014

International Youth Day,UNFPA Representative and Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs to Jointly Address Youth Issues, AVA Diplomatic Reports.On the eve of International Youth Day, Dr. M. Hulki Uz, UNFPA Representative, met with H.E. Dr. Mahmoud Golzari, the Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, to discuss how the two organizations can work together to address the challenges facing youth in the I.R. Iran.

Following the launch of an in-depth situational analysis on youth, UNFPA will be working with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on various activities, in line with the report’s recommendations. According to Dr. Uz, “The young generation is very important, especially in I.R. Iran, where around 50 percent of the population is under the age of 30. UNFPA looks forward to cooperating more closely with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on meeting the needs of young people.”
