Danish Ambassador to Tehran Anders Christian Hougaard voiced concern about the dire situation of the people in the Gaza Strip, and urged the end of conflicts which have killed over 2,000 Palestinians by now, AVA Diplomatic reports.Hougaard made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi in Tehran.
He said that Denmark enjoys views similar to those of Iran on the regional issues, and said, “We also hope that the difficult conditions of Gaza should end very soon.”
Hougaard also underlined the need for expansion of mutual cooperation between Iran and Demark, and welcomed the reciprocal visits by of the two countriesˈ parliamentary delegations.
He expressed the hope that the bilateral relations between the two countries will be expanded.
Boroujerdi, for his part, pointed to the restoration of political stability to Iraq, and said, “Fortunately, the political crisis has lapsed in Iraq and with political stability in the country the terrorist activities of ISIL (the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) has declined in the region.”
“Iran strongly supports Iraq’s integrity and it is a policy that is supported by the regional countries, “he added.
Boroujerdi pointed to the importance of relations between Iran and Denmark, especially in parliamentary field, and said, “The continuation of visits by these delegations to Iran shows the parliamentary diplomacy between the two sides has become more active.”
Danish people have in recent months organized massive rallies in support of the defenseless Palestinian people, stressing their right to live freely and condemning Zionist crimes against innocent children.
Over 2,040 Palestinians have so far been killed and some 11,000 others injured since the Zionist military first launched its offensive against the Gaza Strip on July 8.
