Austria Envoy Says Geneva deal Helpful for Mutual Ties

Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Friedrich Stift said that Tehran and Vienna will experience closer relations after Geneva deal, AVA Diplomatic reports.Stift made the remarks in Kish Island in an international exhibition on tourism held in January, 2014.

Stift underscored that signing of the nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 in the Swiss city in November 2013 helped improve Tehran’s bilateral ties with other countries including Austria.
Stift expressed hope that implementation of the Geneva deal which has started since January 20 would lead to promotion of bilateral ties between Iran and the European states as well as the US.
Experts of Iran and the 5+1 organized a mechanism or a joint plan of action for implementation of bilateral agreement reached between the two sides in Geneva on November 24, 2013.
The agreement is for a period of six months during which the relevant countries hope to seal a final comprehensive deal that would ultimately result in the permanent lifting of all sanctions against Teheran.

Referring to the 150-year-long history of Tehran-Vienna ties, Stift termed Iran as a major economic partner of Austria.
