MFA summons Indian envoy
Indian Ambassador to Tehran Shri Dinkar Prakash Srivastava has been summoned and Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Araghchi demanded the immediate release of the merchant vessel Diyanat and its crew, AVA diplomatic reports.Indian Ambassador to Tehran Shri D.P. Srivastava has been summoned on Wednesday by the Iranian Foreign Ministry. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Oceania Seyyed Abbas Araqchi highlighted the friendly ties between Tehran and New Delhi. He noted Iran’s pursuits in the past and its seriousness about the Diyanat ship and sought explanations about the Indian government’s latest measure regarding Iran’s vessel.
He expressed Iranian government’s deep concern over the prolonged seizure of Iran’s Diyanat ship in Mundra Port, demanding the immediate release of the merchant vessel and its crew on board.
The Iranian vessel Diyanat and its crew members have been held for unknown reasons in Mundra Port for about 9 months. The ship’s crew members have not been allowed to leave the vessel for the past nine months, causing them to suffer great mental and psychological strain.
