Greek envoy and Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister for commercial and international affairs reach agreement

Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister for commercial and international affairs and the Greek ambassador to Iran stressed on the expansion of bilateral ties between the two countries in oil and gas sectors as old trade partners.
“Before oil and gas discovery in the world, due to their unique geographical positions, Iran and Greece were trade partners, having a dossier of age-old cooperation. The two countries can use the very unique geographical positions to take maximum advantage of oil and gas sectors besides trade” said Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister for commercial and international affairs Dr. Mansour Moazzami, during a meeting with Greek ambassador to Iran Nikolaos Garilidis, according to Ava Diplomatic.
The Iranian official called Turkey a bridge to transit energy between Iran and Greece. “In the meeting, the grounds for bilateral cooperation in energy will be once again reviewed,” he said, while noting the two countries’ relations with Turkey are satisfactory.
Garilidis said his country is not importing any oil from Iran at present, “but we are very hopeful about the future”.
