 New Cuban Ambassador to Iran Vladimir Gonzalez submits credentials to Zarif

New Cuban Ambassador to Iran Vladimir Gonzalez met Iranian Foreign Minister and submitted a copy of his credentials to him.

According to Ava Diplomatic, Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif on Monday noted the two countries good relations, saying “Iran and Cuba share many capacities for further expansion of bilateral relations, in trade and economic spheres in particular, given their common stances on key regional issues.”

He also referred to his meeting with his Cuban counterpart on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, underlining Cuba’s key role in the international forums, including the Non-Aligned Movemen, calling for strengthening of mutual cooperation and consultations, at bilateral as well as multilateral levels, on key international issues, during Iran’s term as rotating NAM president.

He hoped for settlement of regional and international problems and issues through negotiation and consultation, maintaining the existing political and diplomatic approach.

He also underlined an all-out expansion of Tehran-Havana ties in economic, trade, technological and scientific spheres, saying ways of promoting bilateral ties should be discussed during Tehran-Havana Joint Economic Commission session.

Submitting a copy of his credentials to Zarif, Gonzalez hailed Iran’s stances on Cuba in international for a while he noted the history of good and friendly ties and cooperation between the two countries.

He also expressed hope further expansion of Tehran-Havana ties could strongly go on as he stressed he would do all within his power to upgrade mutual ties in economic and commercial domains.
