Iran welcomes national dialogue in Venezuela
Special Aide to the Speaker of Iranian Parliament in International Affairs Amir Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Tuesday Iran welcomes any initiative to stabilize the status of the Venezuelan government and peaceful settlement of disputes through dialogue among internal sides, AVA Diplomatic reports.
In a meeting with Venezuela’s Ambassador to Iran Carlos Antonio Alcalá Cordones, he described the two countries ties as cordial and US interventions in other countries as a threat to global peace and stability.
“We are monitoring Venezuelan developments carefully and are regrettable over the unrest which took place in the country since the beginning of the year,” he said.
Condemning US interference in other countries’ affairs, Amir Abdollahian said that unfortunately, direct intervention in other countries’ affairs has turned into a strategy in White House foreign policy and Washington’s meddling in Venezuela is evident.
Venezuelan envoy, for his part, appreciated Iran for its spiritual supports to the legal government of the country, saying that Carcass has always favored development of all-out ties with Tehran.
“Washington is seeking to dominate Venezuelan oil reserves through provoking opposition groups in the country,” he said.
