Dutch Ambassador: Free access to information to raise social awareness

The Dutch ambassador to Iran believes that free access to information will increase the awareness of the community and due to it a country will do its proper work, AVA Diplomatic reports.

‘The reporters and photographers are the creators of information and awareness in the community,’ said Jacques Werner at Thursday’s opening ceremony of the World Press Photo Exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Isfahan.

He said, ‘Therefore, support and cooperation with them by governments is essential.”

Referring to the role of social awareness in creating positive and beneficial changes, he added, “Governments should support the free work of journalists and photographers, since without the activity of media activists, the possibility of consciousness of the community disappears.”
