Senior Iranian and Brazilian officials on Tuesday underlined development of their relations, in particular in parliamentary field, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Brasilia welcomes developments of relations with Tehran, Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran Rodrigo de Azeredo Santos said. He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker’s Advisor for International Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian. The Brazilian ambassador described Iran’s role in the regional peace and stability as constructive. In the meantime, Amirabdollahian, for his part, said that development of parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Brazil will boost the two countries’ economic, trade and cultural ties. US sanctions against Iran is not something new, he said, referring to four decades of Washington sanctions against Tehran. US President Donald Trump announced in early May that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate sanctions which had been lifted under the accord. The first round of the sanctions snapped back into place in August, with the second round which will aim the energy and oil sector taking effect on November 5. This is while other signatories to the deal (i.e. Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia) have thus far criticized Washington’s unilateral move and have repeatedly stressed their commitment to the deal.
