Austrian Ambassador to Iran Stefan Scholz said on Wednesday that removal of sanctions and Iran’s enjoyment of nuclear deal’s benefits are the rights of the Iranian nation, AVA Diplomatic reports.
In a meeting with Director of Organization of Prevention and Crisis Management of Tehran Ahmad Sadeqi, he added that removal of sanctions on the basis of the JCPOA is Iran’s right and Austrian strategic policy is to help preserve the JCPOA and support the Iranian nation’s rights under the agreement.
Iran can play a crucial role in case of disasters in the region and Austria supports playing the role by Iran, he said, adding that Austria is ready to help Iran protect historic monuments in times of disaster.
Referring to the Iranian president’s forthcoming visit to Austria, he added, “The trip reveals confidence and suitable bilateral relations, as it will open a new chapter in deepening bilateral ties which date back to 700 years ago.”
Sadeqi, for his part, appreciated Austria’s stance on preserving Iran’s rights under the JCPOA and welcomed boosting bilateral ties in management of disasters, saying that Iran is a quake-prone country and has achieved valuable experience in relief and rescue operations in the aftermath of various earthquakes.
“We welcome transfer of experience, building capacity for promoting bilateral relations and running expert training courses,” he said.
