The Government of The Kingdom Of The Netherlands Provided Funding To The UNODC Iran Project On “Crime Prevention And Criminal Justice”

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Iran will launch a two-year project on “Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice” under UNODC Iran Country Partnership Programme (2016-2019), thanks to the gracious funding received from the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, AVA Diplomatic reports.

The project aims to exchange knowledge and expertise between the Netherlands and the Iranian institutions on preventive policies, access to legal aid, legal clinics, judicial and prosecution services, alternatives to imprisonment, restorative justice, justice for women and children, and rehabilitation skills.

The project will be implemented in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 on “peace, justice and strong institutions”.
