 Iran’s Isfahan to expand ties with other countries’ provinces

Governor General of Isfahan Province Mohsen Mehralizadeh said his province will pursue stronger and clearer ties with other countries, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Mehralizadeh said in a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan that Isfahan has signed sisterhood agreement with 14 cities and now targets using the international contracts and agreements signed between Isfahan and other countries.

He referred to a sisterhood agreement Isfahan signed with Saint Petersburg, and said the two sides have not yet been able to use the accord, but with the presence of new Consul General Boris Burmistrov in Isfahan and new management of Foreign Ministry representative office in Isfahan the deal will be used in the best possible manner.

He referred to age-old ties between Iran and Russia and said the two sides share long history of ties and cultural and economic commonalties, which can help upgrade the two-way ties in various domains.

Mehralizadeh said Isfahan and Saint Petersburg enjoy historical, cultural and arts commonalties and count on their sharing for a long time.

He said tourism is one of the areas catching attention of the two sides.
