EU committed to JCPOA: Bulgarian envoy
The European Union is committed to preserve the JCPOA and the mechanisms that the deal has been approved based on them, Bulgarian Ambassador to Iran Haristo Polendakov said in a meeting with Chairman of the Iranian parliament’s Human Rights Commision Hadi Shoushtari, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the envoy hailed Iran’s success in the field of human rights and called for frank and honest talks between the EU and Iran in this regard.
The Bulgarian envoy said that an EU delegation and the Bulgarian side of Iran-Bulgaria friendship group will visit Iran in the near future.
During the meeting, the Iranian MP, for his part, criticized the UN Human Rights Council for adopting double standard approach towards human rights and appointing Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran.
He referred to the fact that the nuclear agreement is a multilateral agreement and said, ‘The European Union can play an important role in extension of JCPOA.’
