 Iran urges EU’s strong support for nuclear deal

President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday urged the European Union member-states, including Norway, to play their constructive role in protection of the nuclear deal, AVA Diplomatic reports.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the newly-appointed Norwegian ambassador to Iran Lars Nordrum.

‘The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) opened the doors for negotiation on various regional and international issues,’ the President added.

President Rouhani encouraged the European states to use the opportunities for cooperation.

‘Iran is interested to develop its economic cooperation and relations with Norway,’ the President added.

The Norway ambassador, for his part, stressed that all sides should remain committed to their obligations in the JCPOA.

The Norwegian government has earmarked a 1-billion-euro credit line for Iran which shows Oslo’s serious commitment to elevate relations with Iran, he noted.

During the meeting, Norway ambassador submitted his credentials to Iranian President.
