German envoy in Mashhad to learn more about Iran, Shia Muslims

German ambassador to Iran Michael Klor Berchtold took a trip to Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine in Mashad, Razavi Khorasan Province to learn more about people of Iran and Shia Muslims, AVA Diplomatic reports.

In his Twitter message released on Thursday, Berchtold said, ‘visited city of Mashad Shrine of 8th Imam, ImamReza, Iranian center for Shia pilgrimage, to learn more about Shia and Iranian history.’

‘And again, as all over Iran, welcome by open heart of Iranian people, with pilgrims at Imam Reza Shrine in Mashad, Khorasan-e Razavi Province,’ he said in a separate message.

During his trip to Mashhad, German envoy visited Khorasan Museum and met governor general of Razavi Khorasan province.
