Students learnt more about UN and UN website

Faculty of World Studies, University of Tehran cooperation with Iranian World Studies Association, the UNESCO Chair on Cyberspace and Culture and the UN Information Centre (UNIC) organized a two-session workshop on finding UN information and documentation for some graduate students from different universities on 17 and 31 May 2017, AVA Diplomatic reports.

UNIC Reference Assistant Ms. Nazanin Ghaemmaghami addressed the participants on how to retrieve UN documentation and information from UN, UN in Iran and UNIC websites and on the Dag Hammarskjold Library’s web page during the workshop at the Faculty of World Studies.

She focused on achievements and history of the UN, the Member States, the main organs as well as the UN observances specially World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (17 May) and World No Tobacco Day (31 May) that coincided with the workshops.

Students also learned how to locate different countries’ information such as their contributions to the UN regular budget and peacekeeping budget.

Persian copies of the UN Charter, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN System Chart were distributed among participants.

Mr. Abbas Javadian, one of the students of international relations from the Kharazmi University expressed his satisfaction from the programme and proposed that UNIC holds the same workshop for the students of his university.
