Velayati confers with Chinese ambassador

Head of Expediency Council’s Center for Strategic Research Ali Akbar Velayati on Wednesday stressed the need for promoting strategic ties between Iran and China, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Velayati made the remarks in a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Iran Pang Sen.

Velayati reviewed issues of mutual interest and regional developments with the ambassador. Noting that Tehran-Beijing ties are at desirable level, he said that Iran attaches special significance to promoting them to strategic relations. Velayati called for further cooperation between Iran and China to help resolve the problems faced by the two nations.

Pang Sen, for his part, described Tehran-Beijing cooperation as increasing, saying that bilateral ties have reached desirable level after President Xi Jinping’s visit to Tehran. He further noted that the president pays special attention to boosting cooperation and has issued orders to that effect.
