International Day of Peace Commemorated

Member of Board of Directors of Tehran Peace Museum (TPM) Dr. Hamid Salehi said while commemorating International Day of Peace today, TPM works to promote peace and various aspects of it such as peace with oneself and with the others, peace with the environment and finally peace with the world, AVA Diplomatic reports.

“These concepts of peace are the necessities of having a sustainable peace as the common goal of the humanity,” he told the participants of a ceremony marking the Day at TPM on Sunday 18 September 2016.

“Our methods for approaching peace is based on scientific and cultural activities as well as lessons from all the divine religions, especially the Holly Islam,” he added.

Also speaking at the ceremony United Nations Information Centre National Information Officer Mr. Mohammad Moghadam delivered UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s message for some 70 participants including NGO members, diplomats, government officials and journalists.

Other speakers of the ceremony were Member of Majlis (Parliament) from Sardasht in western Iran Dr. Rasoul Khezri, Dutch Ambassador to Tehran Ms. Susanna Terstal and Head of Research Centre of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Dr. Mohammad Beheshti.
