The director of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Abuzar Ebrahimi-Torkaman, has met with Chinese Ambassador Pang Sen to discuss expansion of bilateral art, cultural and media relations, AVA Diplomatic reports.
The two officials met at the ICRO office and discussed ways to develop ties, ICRO announced in a press release published on Sunday.
The ambassador emphasized good cooperation between Iran and China in all fields, especially in cultural programs over the past years, and praised ICRO’s cooperation in holding programs.
He also announced that a Chinese delegation would be traveling to Iran next month, adding that a number of exhibits to include photos, Chinese traditional costumes, jewelry and musical instruments would be set up during their stay.
He also noted that several Muslim clerics from China would be accompanying the delegation and they would like to meet Iranian clerics and see the religious sites, and asked the organization to provide the facilities.
The ambassador emphasized that he is trying to act like a bridge for the development of ties between the two countries.
For his part, Ebrahimi-Torkaman also promised to cooperate with the Chinese delegation that is due to visit Iran.
In addition, he welcomed the idea of establishing Iranian and Chinese cultural centers in the two countries.
