Tehran to Host European Iranologists

According to the Public Relations of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Carlo Cherti, Italian Cultural Attaché in Iran, attended the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization on June 14, 2016, and visited Gharaman Soleimani, the deputy of the Research and Training Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, AVA Diplomatic reports.

This meeting was held following the visit of Gharaman Soleimani to Italy and the results of his negotiations with scientific and cultural figures, especially Italian Iranologists in the last week. Tehrans hosting of Societas Iranologica Europaea (SIE) was one of the most important decisions made by both sides in this meeting. At the beginning of this meeting, explaining plans and the results of his visit to Italy, and pointing out that the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, cultural counseling of Iran in Rome and cultural counseling of Italy in Tehran are obliged to follow up and perform the commitments of governments of the two countries in the field of cultural interactions, Soleimani called for more cooperation between both sides in cultural, archaeological, and Iranological aspects and the development of bilateral interactions.

Then, emphasizing that the cultural relations between the two countries are good, Carlo Cherti predicted that the relationship will be better in the next year. He said: “In the next year, Italy will be the special guest of Tehran International Book Fair and this opportunity can enhance the cultural interactions between the two countries to the highest level. In addition, Italy is looking for activities in the fields of art, music, cultural heritage, literature and science and technology with the contribution of Iranian sides”.
