Different foreign officials felicitate Larijani on re-election

Political and parliamentary officials from different countries, in separate phone conversations and messages congratulated Ali Larijani on his re-election as Iran Majlis (parliament) speaker, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Larijani received 237 votes in a Majlis session last week to become parliament speaker for a third consecutive term.

In a phone conversation, Cyprus parliament speaker Dimitris Christofias, congratulated Larijani on re-election to the post, calling for enhanced political and economic relations between Iran and Cyprus.

Armenian Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan and the country’s Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan also congratulated Larijani in separate messages, underlining that the Armenian government attaches special significance to promotion of ties with Iran.

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jubouri, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Palestinian ambassador in Tehran Salah Zawawi and Syrian ambassador to Iran Adnan Hassan also issued separate congratulatory messages to Larijani.
