 Bulgarian Trade minister due to Iran

Bulgarian Minister of Trade, Information and Communication Technology Ivaylo Moskovski will visit Iran in early March at the head of a high-ranking trade delegation for the 18th joint session of the two countries, AVA Diplomatic reports.

According to a report by the Bulgarian Embassy in Tehran, the joint session of the two countries will be held in economic, scientific and technical areas from March 6 to 9.

Meanwhile, a trade delegation comprising representatives of 66 Bulgarian companies in different economic fields will accompany the official delegation and will make efforts to reach mutual lucrative contracts with their Iranian counterparts.

Christo Polendakov, the Bulgarian Ambassador to Tehran, in a recent meeting with head of IRI Customs Administration (IRICA) called for the expansion of transit cooperation and formation of a joint working committee with IRICA.

He said they intended to have warm and stable relations with Iran and on behalf of the trade partners, “I say Iran is highly important for us in this region.”

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov in his recent meeting with the Iranian road and urban development minister said his country has held talks with Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and with regard to Bulgaria’s membership in the European Union, its companies are ready to establish a combined transport corridor including Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and Bulgaria to transit EU commodities through the transit route.

Mitov also considered transit of Iran’s natural gas through Bulgaria for other European countries as highly important.
