Ebtekar: Iran to develop international cooperation on environment

Head of Department of Environment Masoumeh Ebtekar said on Sunday that Iran is willing to develop international cooperation on environment and exchange of experience and know-how, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Ebtekar made the remarks in a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Tehran Hiroyasu Kobayashi.
In the meeting, the two sides reviewed expansion of cooperation on environment.
Environment is a global issue and political boundaries can not limit its role, she said adding that it is among duties of the world countries to help remove existing challenges to the environment.
Lifting economic sanctions will lead to new economic opportunities for the country, Ebtekar said.
‘We hope positive cooperation between Iran and Japan to lead to regional cooperation on environment’ she said.
Japan can play active role in the upcoming 15th international exhibition on environment, she said.
The Japanese ambassador said for his part that Tokyo has received various reports from Iranian cities such as Tehran and Bandar Abbas on negative impacts of dust in some provinces.
‘I would like to invite the Iranian experts to attend educational courses and workshops to explore the means to thwart the dilemma of air pollution.’
