 Revival of Silk Road helps progress of regional nations: Envoy

Revival of the ancient Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road helps development of regional nations’ economy, Chinese Ambassador to Iran Pang Sen said on Wednesday evening, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Speaking in a ceremony held at the Chinese Embassy in Tehran to celebrate the 66th anniversary of National Day of People’s Republic of China, he urged all regional nations including Iran to help revival of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Route Economic Belt as the best way to connect the regional nations.

Ambassador Pang Sen said that prosperity of China is very much dependent on prosperity of other nations.

He added Beijing is keen to help development of other countries particularly Iran as a complementary economy to China’s economy.

Iran and China have had the best relations for the past 44 years, the envoy said.

He referred to the meetings between Iranian and Chinese high-ranking officials, adding that Tehran and Beijing enjoy cordial ties.

China would do its best to help execution of the deals between Tehran and Beijing, the ambassador added.

Chinese Embassy in Iran celebrated 66th anniversary of National Day of People’s Republic of China on Wednesday night.

Minister of Economy Ali Tayebnia and Head of Iran’s Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance (OIETAI) Mohammad Khazaei were the chief guests at the ceremony.

The National Day of the People’s Republic of China is a public holiday in the People’s Republic of China to celebrate their national day, and is celebrated annually on October 1.

The PRC was founded on October 1, 1949 with a ceremony at Tiananmen Square. The Central People’s Government passed the Resolution on the National Day of the People’s Republic of China on December 2, 1949 and declared that October 1 is the National Day.
