The China Philharmonic Orchestra arrived in Tehran on Tuesday.

 The China Philharmonic Orchestra arrived in Tehran on Tuesday.

The orchestra was given a warm welcome by Ali Rahbari, the conductor and general music director of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra, Bahram Jamali, the director of Rudaki Foundation and Chinese Ambassador Pang Sen at the Imam Khomeini International Airport, AVA Diplomatic reports.

The China Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tehran Symphony Orchestra are scheduled to perform joint concerts at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on Thursday and Friday.

“This orchestra is China’s largest orchestra that travels around world,” China Philharmonic Orchestra Artistic Director Long Yu told reporters at the airport.

“It is great honor for us to perform in Iran,” he added.

“I hope these concerts will constitute considerable achievements,” said Pang.

“The China Philharmonic Orchestra really feels at home here,” he added.
