Bahrain envoy summoned over FM’s allegations
Iran has summoned the Bahraini charge d’affaires to Tehran over FM Sheikh Khalid’s recent remarks accusing Iran of interference in the affairs of the country, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Following the outrageous remarks by Bahraini Foreign Minister and in the absence of the Bahraini ambassador to Tehran, Iran’s Foreign Ministry summoned the Bahraini charge d’affaires on Monday to urge the kingdom’s officials to amend their conduct and comments.
Foreign Ministry authorities admonished the Bahraini government to seek the root causes of the ongoing conflicts in Manama in a bid to resolve them.
Iran also stressed that throwing baseless accusations against other countries would not help settle the problems in the country.
The move came a day after the tiny Persian Gulf state’s foreign ministry summoned the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires to Manama Mohammad Reza Babaei to oppose what it alleged to be Iran’s interference into the affairs of the country.
