Former Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Torki Saghar said on Monday that any nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 will help resolve the regional crises, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Speaking to IRNA in an exclusive interview, the Syrian diplomat said Western states would definitely exert the pressure on ‘Resistance’ movement including Syria in case of failure of the nuclear talks.
Saghar, also chairman of the Strategic Studies Center of the Syrian Baath Party, made the remarks commenting on recent claims made by certain media that the fate of Syrian crisis is intertwined by the fate of Iran’s nuclear talks.
Criticizing certain regional states such as Saudi Arabia and Turkey, for their acts against regional nations, Saghar said that the history will never forget violation of international law perpetrated by the Saudi and Turkish governments.
He said Damascus was determined to resolve political crisis in Syria by adopting significant plans including national reconciliation and forgiving repentant citizens who renounce violence.
Hailing the Iranian support for Syria, Saghar said Iran is playing an effective role in resolving Syrian crisis through peaceful means.
