 Pakistani Consulate General in Zahedan: People of Pakistan are very fond of Iranian art and culture

Pakistani Consulate General in Zahedan, the provincial capital of Sistanand Baluchistan Province, in a meeting with Head of the Provincial Culture and Islamic Guidance Department said art and culture have special status among every nation and people of Pakistan have special attachment to Iranian art and culture, AVA Diplomatic reports.

According to Public Relations and Information Center of Ministry of Culture, Taher Mahmoud Qoreishi in his meeting with a number of local Iranian political and cultural officials said cultural perspective is more important than economic and political ones because no political and economic structure can take shape without culture. He also underlined importance of journalists by saying that media workers by their works can bring peace and tranquility to society. The Pakistani official said we are ready to boost our cultural ties with Iran and in order to achieve this objectives Iranian and Pakistani artists and cultural workers will visit Pakistani city of Quetta and Zahedan.

 According to Mr. Qoreishi a group of local Iranian Journalists are also planned to visit Quetta. Pakistani Consulate General to Zahedan said we want to turn Iranian Pakistani border to the safest border so that people living in border area to enjoy a safe and secure life and engage in economic and social interactions. Mr. Qoreishi said great Iranian personalities such as Imam Khomeini, Ferdowsi and Hafez are very popular among Pakistanis and I can say that these people do not only belong to Iranians but also to people of Pakistan. According to Mr. Qoreishi one of the main streets in Pakistani Capital of Islamabad is going to be name after Imam Khomeini and suggested that a street in Zahedan to be named Pakistan and a street in Pakistan to be named as Iran. Head of Culture and Islamic Guidance Department in Zahedan Hojjatolislam Abbas Daneshi, for his part said people living alongside of Iranian-Pakistani border have always been very keen to have cultural ties and officials of two countries should work for promotion of such relations.
