Referring to numerous cultural, religious and historic commonalities between the two countries, Rashidian said that the capacity should be utilized in line with promoting interaction in different fields.

Exchanging pilgrims between Mashhad and holy shrines in Iraq is another ground which can help consolidate bilateral ties, he said.

Further solidarity among the Muslims and shunning extremism will help foil the enemies plots against the Islamic community, he said.

We favor to have a developed and free country in our neighborhood and we consider establishment of security in the neighboring states as our own, he said.

The two officials discussed facilitation of pilgrims visits to the countries and exchange of commercial and economic delegations.
