President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday in a meeting with Lithuanian non-resident ambassador to Iran said that solving problems in the region and the world is the appropriate fields of political cooperation between the two countries, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Stressing the expansion of insecurities in the region, the president noted that violence and extremism is a threat to the world.
President said that “the military option endanger innocent people, besides peace requires a collective will.”
Expressing his interest in the development of relations of two countries, the president said that Iran is ready to expand the Persian language in Lithuania.
The presence of Lithuanian investors in Iran is a way for the development of economic and trade relations and tourism development can strengthen the bonds between the two countries, the president reiterated.
Describing terrorism as the major problem for the world, Dr.Rouhani said the disagreements should be resolved by dialogue and peace requires a collective will.
In the meeting, during which the new ambassador submitted his credentials to the Iranian president, president said that as both Iran and Lithuania are situated in sensitive regions of the world, further promotion of relations would benefit both countries.
Kestutis Kujmanas, the Lithuanian ambassador, for his part, said his government and nation are willing to boost ties with Iran.
Presenting his credentials, the new ambassador of Lithuania described Iran as the greatest potential in the fields of culture and tourism.
Saying that safety is in the common interest of all countries in the region, Kestutis kujmanas said the two countries should have a common solution to help establish peace and security in the region.
