Spanish Ambassador Meets with IMIDRO Chief

Spanish ambassador to Iran and the President of the Spain’s International Association of Contractors met and exchanged views with Mehdi Karbasian, IMIDRO’s Chief”, AVA Diplomatic reports.Jose Garcia-Morales, President of the Spain’s International Association of Contractors in Iran in the meeting with Mahdi Karbasian said: “Cooperation between IMIDRO and this association can be boosted by further researches and surveys.
Pedro Antonio Villena, Spanish ambassador to Iran also put emphasis on the interest of the Spanish government in the development of ties with Iran in mining industry sector.
“Considering that Iran is out of economic crisis and the inflation being tackled, Spain is ready to cooperate with Iran in technology and mining industry sectors”
“Some of the Spanish mining companies will participate in Iran’s Mining and Industry Summit (IMIS) to be held in November in Tehran”, he noted.
Mahdi Karbasian on his part in this meeting said: “IMIDRO as the custodian of Mining industry in Iran is ready to attract foreign investors in all the areas of exploration, exploitation and processing of minerals”.
“Considering the ease of sanctions, there are suitable opportunities for cooperation and the investment of the Spanish companies, either independent or cooperative, can be defined from 1 to 100 and IMIDRO can hold maximum 49 percent of the share”, he added.
According to Karbasian, development programs of IMIDRO including producing 55 million tons of steel, 1.5 million tons of Aluminum, 200 million tons of minerals, 800 thousand tons of copper and the start of the 250 thousand square meters exploration program will provide ideal opportunities of investment in reaching the mentioned aims.
